About Trope
Trope is an alt-rock band featuring Juno-nominated songwriter Diana Studenberg and multi-instrumentalist/producer/mixer Moonhead. They formed in Canada in 2016 and spent the next couple of years writing and recording demos which became their debut album "Eleutheromania" (2021).
‘Eleutheromania’ was engineered by Mike Fraser (ACDC, Metallica), mixed and creative consulted by David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Alice In Chains, Pantera, Stone Temple Pilots).
In 2022, Trope went on a 26-date European tour supporting The Pineapple Thief featuring Gavin Harrison and supported Symphony X and Haken on Symphony X's '25th Year Anniversary' tour for 26 shows across North America. They also played the main stages at Summerfest (Milwaukee) for two-consecutive years.
In January 2020, they performed an acoustic set at NAMM at the Sennheiser booth. They’ve also performed at LA’s Whisky A Go Go, The Viper Room and at The Hollywood Improv, opening for comedians Iliza Shlesinger, Harland Williams and Bryan Callen.
Trope were featured as one of HEAVY Mags' Top 40 Female Rock Acts in their Ladies of Rock Edition alongside Lzzy Hale, Lacuna Coil, Jinjer, The Runaways etc (2019) as well as in Prog Magazine, LouderSound, and Metal Hammer Germany. They were one of Loudwire’s Weekly Staff Picks in April 2021.
Their single ‘Pareidolia’ climbed to #1 on the Bulgarian Rock Radio Chart (2021).
They are currently on tour in the US with Kings X and will be releasing their sophomore double album DYAD in Spring 2024.
